Pharmacy Services

The department of pharmacy ensures the following:-
-providing efficient services to both inpatients and outpatients at affordable cost.

It is comprised of-

- Main pharmacy
- Eye Pharmacy
- Rehab Pharmacy

MAIN PHARMACY

• Dispensing to inpatients and
  outpatients
• Patient counseling on drug use
• Provision of medication to
  HIV/AIDS patients
• Continuous medical examination
• Costing of drugs
• Discharges
• Serving casualty with emergency
  drugs.

EYE UNIT PHARMACY
This section deals with dispensing of ophthalmic drugs and a few of other categories to both inpatients and outpatients

REHAB UNIT PHARMACY

Deals with dispensing drugs to outpatients on clinic
days and also to inpatients.

OUTPATIENT SERVICES
Once the patient is through with the payment drugs
are issued.

DRUG INFORMATION

This is obtained by use of drug information resources
e.g. British National Formulary, Physcians desk
reference book.

Drug sourcing and Availability.

70% of our drugs are sourced through Missions
Essentials and drug supplies (MEDS). 30% are
obtained directly from other suppliers.

Availability of good quality generics and branded
ones are ensured.
